About This Place

Welcome to Suttons Coffee Shop, a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Weymouth at 6 St Alban St. This quaint café, known for its charming atmosphere and friendly service, embodies the essence of a classic British café circa the 1950s. When you step inside, you are greeted by a warm ambiance that feels both welcoming and nostalgic.

Suttons Coffee Shop boasts an impressive breakfast menu that has garnered rave reviews from locals and visitors alike. The Suttons Super Breakfast is a standout dish, lauded for its generous portions and exceptional quality, often described as “the best breakfast” by satisfied patrons like Jimmy. For those prefering something lighter, options like the Vegetarian Breakfast or the Small Breakfast cater to various tastes and dietary needs.

But breakfast is just the beginning! The café also offers a variety of homemade meals that reflect British culinary traditions. Try the Chicken, Ham & Leek Pie celebrated for its rich flavor, or sample the hearty Cottage Pie or Quiche Lorraine. As you savor these dishes, you’ll notice the care that goes into each plate, as they strive to deliver restaurant-quality food at café prices. Customer reviews speak volumes, with Nick Layton highlighting how Suttons serves “restaurant standard food,” which he found to be more satisfying than many higher-end establishments.

For those with a sweet tooth, don’t miss out on the delightful desserts, including homemade cheesecakes and sugar-free cakes that consistently impress. The combination of hearty meals and decadent desserts makes Suttons a place where comfort food flourishes.

Suttons Coffee Shop is not just a eatery; it is a community hub, a place where quality food meets friendly face. Andrew Harris eloquently notes the café's spotless cleanliness and the attentive service provided by its staff. While the space may be modest, it enhances the cozy dining experience that draws customers back time and again.

In summary, Suttons Coffee Shop stands out as a must-visit destination in Weymouth. Whether you’re starting your day with a robust breakfast, enjoying a comforting lunch, or indulging in delectable cakes, you can expect a memorable culinary experience that beckons you to return. As Carol Tassell aptly put it, “First time here certainly not the last!”

My wife had a jacket potato with cheese and beans and I had the chicken, leak and ham pie with suede, cabbage, baby carrots and roast potatoes. Then unbelievably we followed up with 2 delicious desserts. The pie was delicious. This is a cafe that serves restaurant standard food and to be honest I've had dined in so called posh restaurants and felt let down. This was super quality and honest value and comes thoroughly recommended.

I've hunted far a wide around Weymouth and pretty much tried every cafe. The suttons super breakfast is by far the best I've had anywhere in the country and it's never failed me once. The staff are lovely but there's only one issue. It's not the biggest cafe by size and sometimes tough to get a table.

Excellent homemade meal. First time here certainly not the last. The food was hot and plentiful. Super portions. Loved it. Will be back.

Have eaten their a few times when have had holidays in Dorset, they amaze me on the quality and choice of food. We have never had a poor meal their. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. The style of the restaurant is in keeping with the building. We went in again Monday the 2nd of June and the place is still popular. Once again can we say thank you all for a fabulous meal. Richard from Whitfield Kent.

A really lovely British cafe circa 1950's. Warm, friendly, with a simple menu of fantastic 'home cooked' foods. Great decor, spotlessly clean, with top-notch service. Highly recommended.

Lots of home made food on offer. A lovely selection of home made & gluten free options too. Fast & friendly service.

Lovely traditional cafe, actually opens early enough for breakfast (most cafes seem to open at 9 or even 10 in mid-September). Starts getting really busy around 9, so best to go slightly earlier. Service is wonderful, the staff made us feel so welcome we went back the following day. Food was good and substantial, nothing fancy, but good stuff and good prices. Jacket potatoes for breakfast fueled us for a long hike in the sun, and the egg custard tart was wonderful: light and not too sweet!
